This is an awesome easy piano book. So full disclosure, this is my current favorite movie and I LOVE the songs. I wanted to play them but I only took a couple of years of Piano lessons about 30 years ago and I stink. This book is very easy to play for super beginners like me but has great songs so I'm not stuck playing "Mary had a a little lamb" to try and learn piano. There was another review that said it is the right hand only. That is not entirely true. It is the right hand melody only but the accompanying chords for the left hand are printed above. So for example, you play a C chord with the left while you play the melody with the right. It sounds GREAT together and the music is written to minimize sharps and flats to be easy. My daughters are 10 and 12. I spent 15 min teaching them the chords and they were able to play the page with one hand (either the right or the left while I did the other side) with very few mistakes. My project for the summer is to have them practice each hand and then put them together. In summary - this book is completely PERFECT for someone who has a very basic level of understanding and skill at piano and wants to play something that sounds beautiful. A few of the songs are REALLY FAST and were too difficult for me now, but there are 5 or so that are great for my level now and fun to play. Working my way up to the others. Highly recommend.

I bought for my 2nd grade daughter who has been playing piano for 2 years. It only has right hand music, written in large notes. I took a picture of part of the bottom 3 lines of a page; there were 2 more lines above it and half a measure before where I cropped the photo. Large notes were good for young children. The chords are listed in the squares, and my daughter is not advanced enough to improvise her left hand to accompany the right hand music. She is fine playing the music and is very happy she can crank out the melodies and sing along. Personally, I would have preferred the music actually be written for both hands at a simple level. But my kid is very happy. I’d give it 3 stars, my daughter would give it 5, so averages to 4 stars.

I am a Music teacher. I bought this for a very bright student who is in 2nd grade. I just started teaching her scales and chords. She has been studying for about 10 months and is a good reader and excellent in understanding Rhythm. In my hopes, a few years from now she will be playing Bach. Right now.. I just want to keep motivation high. I checked out the level up Piano arrangements and it is beyond her current level. The child loves singing this music so I hope that this will be good motivation. We started one song that she chose and I filled in l notes to eliminate the letters (quarter notes and eight notes. She doesn't need that much help! Left half notes and whole with the embedded letters. We shall see..I think we concert some good harmony after she masters the melody line. Think as the idea of this book as a beginners Fake Book.

My daughter is really enjoying the music from this show so I thought I'd give her something to play around with a bit. It is very simple, so take a look at the "inside" pictures to get an idea. It's in a lead sheet style but the notes are big and have the note names in them...she doesn't need it quite that easy, but the jump up to the next level was quite big. It only has the melody and the LH is chord symbols, so it's been a fun opportunity to teach her to do chords, as well. It has all the good songs and she's spent hours playing through it already.

this is a one handed score with the letters written in the notes it was a little too easy for what i was looking for. they really should let you a view at least a measure to see if this is what you want before you buy.

Great book, easy to read and play, but some of the melody doesn’t seem to quite match the soundtrack. I’m not a piano student and have little experience playing at all. I can read music, but I’m very slow at it and I can’t play the second hand to save my life. This book is great for me, but someone with more experience/skill might find it too easy.

I thought other reviews may have been a mistake, but sure enough, 25 pages were missing! Even if it had come with all the pages, it is right hand only and way too simple to hear the tune. I would not recommend this for anyone.

Is this easy? Yes, but... it’s only right hand. This thing worthless. Product description needs to more clearly define what level it’s geared toward. Sending it back.
